What We Belive In

Baseline Norms

1. Show up when and where you are expected to be and communicate promptly if that’s not possible

2. Be focused on and present with whatever one thing you are doing

3. Treat the people you interact with obvious respect

Values
1. Being Proactive

    • Be self-directed and find solutions to problem
    • Focus on the factors that are in your control

2. Making Positive Contributions

    • Believe that you have value that can make others and the situations around you better
    • Be kind & care about students’ and colleagues’ success and well-being

3. Engaging in Self-reflection

    • Regularly review what you did well and what can be improved to make progress
    • Be honest and rigorous in your reflection

Principles
In addition to the norms and values, we have identified and articulated core principles that serve as a guidepost for the way all members of CTI will operate.
1. Ownership

    • You own outcomes, not processes/procedures
    • You relentlessly pursue the north star metrics
    • You recognize value in others and are willing to collaborate

2. Execution

    • You focus on doing the basics extremely well
    • You believe implementation is as important as (if not more important than) ideas
    • You prioritize students’ end-to-end learning experience (point A to point B)

3. Experimentation

    • You learn through byte-size experiments on a regular basis
    • You use quantifiable data to measure student engagement, learning, and feedback
    • You produce genuine product improvements using a build-measure-learn cycle

4. Transparency

    • You build trust by allowing others to hold you accountable
    • You are honest in your evaluation of motivations and outcomes
    • You value failures as opportunities to learn
