Bridge Experience for Computer Science
Join computer science college-going students from throughout California in a virtual summer program designed to prepare you for success during your first year of college classes and get a head start on getting prepared for industry opportunities.
What is BECS?
Online Modules
You are encouraged to spend around 10-15 hours per week completing online modules that cover:
- College Readiness
- Math Preparation
- Reading and Writing Skills
- Introduction to Python & CS Projects
- Culture and professionalism
Learning Community
While you work through the online content, you will have plenty of opportunities to interact with your peers – to ask questions and to help keep each other motivated:
- 1-2 weekly small-group check-ins
- An CTI Slack channel
Fireside Chats with Students and Alums
On four occasions during the summer, you will have the opportunity to learn from current students & alums of CTI who are in the industry right now about their journey and the key lessons they think you should be focusing on right now.
Guidance For Financial Support
You will receive information, resources and support to take advantage of financial assistance available through programs beyond those available from your institutions financial aid office. Depending on funding availability, you could also earn financial assistance from CTI for BECS completion.
